2023/2024

Term 1 - Shared Education

The primary 7 pupils attended our first Shared Education visit of the year. We made the short trip to Cregagh Primary School, where the boys and girls joined in a carousel of activities. the children enjoyed participating in parachute games, team building tasks, drama, PDMU and PE activities. It was a great way to allow the children to settle into this year’s programme and meet some new friends.

A big thank you to Cregagh Primary School for hosting us on the day. Be sure to check back later this year for more updates and photographs to follow.

Term3 - P7 Shared Education

Primary 7 pupils finished their last Shared Education Project focusing on friendship, team-work, what qualities we look for in a friend and transition to post-primary school.

A fantastic group of children from Cregagh Primary and St. Bernards PS. who joined us all year!

We hope that the children have made some new friends this year and maybe will see some familiar faces upon starting Year 8 in September.

Term 2 - P7 Shared Education

PDMU - Is that Fair?

This Spring term, the Primary 7 pupils from Lisnasharragh once again got to meet up with their friends from St Bernards and Cregagh Primary School. The theme for this series of lessons was around ‘Fairness.’ with the children taking part in a carousel of games. They moved around the room and completed each task to the best of their ability. However, there was a catch! Each group had to complete the tasks based on a mystery rule…

Some groups could only use their right hand, others their left, sometimes just two thumbs but the trickiest of them all, was when they had to complete the tasks using a pair of tweezers!

We completed Jigsaws, Pegboard challenges, tried to build Wallace and Gromit and completed a sketch around Equality vs Equity.

Although our Shared Education was cut short due to the snowfall we had great fun on day 1 and look forward to our final lessons after the Easter Holidays.

  Shared Education (P7) Term 1

This year the children will be participating in the Shared Education program once more. This is where children from 3 local schools (Lisnasharragh, Cregagh and St. Bernards) will meet and complete a series of interactive lessons.

The focus for this term will be on PDMU (Personal Development and Mutual Understanding). The children will be completing tasks on ‘what makes me, me.’

The boys and girls enjoyed learning about the fact that we are all unique and different, however we can all still fit together and have common interests. In our second day together the focused shifted to, ‘a look to the future’ the boys and girls used an aging app then recorded where they would like to be in 30/40 years time. There were some fantastic responses and we hope that they all go on to reach their goals.
